Environment - Friendly Filmmaking
In accordance with our custom of environment-friendly filmmaking we recommend you to take small but nevertheless important environmental-etiquette actions during your shoot in Mexico that are expected by our community to be adopted as better practices to collaborate with the preservation of the environment. The sum of all of us makes the difference.
Reduce the use of disposable items:
Bring personal thermos as reusable water containers.
Use personal a reusable cup for coffee or tea.
Eliminate the use of plastic bags and replace them with a reusable cloth bag.
Reduction of paper use:
Print what is only strictly necessary.
Use printing and copying paper made from recycled material.
Print on both sides whenever possible.
Use e-mail and SD cards or USB's to avoid paper waste.
Reuse envelopes, folders and cartons instead of buying new ones.
Avoid the use of fax.
During the day, avoid whenever possible to turn on the lights when there is enough sun lighting the interiors.
During the night, turn-off all lights in quarters that are not being used and be sure to turn off all lights after the day ends.
Turn-off and disconnect all electrical devices when they are not in use. chargers and electronic and devices consume electricity even if they are not in use if they remain connected to the power outlet.
Replace incandescent light bulbs for energy-saving light bulbs.
Use a water filter or a big thermo or a demijohn instead of individual water bottles.
Use a cloth bag, re-use plastic bags or prefer paper bags.
Buy in big bundles to avoid the excessive packing.
Prefer buying natural and non-toxic cleaning products.
Use rechargeable batteries.
Turn-off engines of production vans and vehicles when they are not being used. Do not warm?up or leave the engine on.
Do not to park mobile electric generators in front of residential buildings or houses.
Rent efficient consumption vehicles.
Make sure that the trucks are not going to break the branches of the trees when they pass below.
Use rubber bands or some thread to fix signs or directions notices in trees. Tape, staples or tacks can damage them seriously. Be sure to remove all the notices and signs upon completion of location shooting, the residues can damage the trees also.
Reduce the use of styrofoam and of plastic plates, cups, forks, spoons and knives. Prefer instead reusable tools or plates and paperboard cups.
Use a cooler of water bottles or a filter in the set for the use of the personnel and the technical staff.
Supply the meal with local or organic providers.
Use recyclable products.
Use recycled building materials construction of sets, wood for example.
Reduce paper waste:
Print only the sheets with changes on the scripts.
Use printing or copying paper made with recycled material.
Print only half of the sheet to put notices (printing 2 notes for sheet and to cut them by the half).
Work digitally - in paperless office mode - use e-mail and SD cards or USB's. This prevents the waste of paper and nature's resources.
Reuse signs and location notices.
Props, materials of the department of art, wood, team and consumables can be donated to hostels, schools and other organizations at the end of the production.
Do a detailed cleaning job of the filming area to make sure that nothing remains: equipment, garbage, notices and signs, parking signs.
Diminish the trace of carbon of your production!
